while we're at it, have you seen design observer? lots of smart content there.
grain edit has a lot of interviews and other designerly content, but are pretty illustration-heavy.
aiga's "eye on design" blog covers some pretty hip and young work in a thoughtful way.
but does it float has some really nice and artful work, but not unlike designspiration or pinterest, it's pretty decontextualized. art/design porn, in a way.
